I have a large entertainment center for a large RPTV, with the Speaker Enclosures in the bottom on each side. I’d like to put a sub in one of these enclosures. Is this completely against the rules?

Also, The only way to get the STF-2 in the enclosure is to put it on it’s side, with the speaker facing out towards the listener, through the speaker vent on the enclosure.

The enclosure opening is about 18 high X 20 wide by 25 deep.
The acutal size inside is about 2 inches wider and taller.

Am I completely out to lunch on this? The wife does not want a sub anywhere in view in “her” family room.

you will need 3" behind the port for one...

If you lay the sub on its side then you may need some rubber feet (on the side of the sub) to stop vibrations.

Some rubber or a throw rug under the sub should help, and then make sure there is 3 inches of space around the port.

It may not seem to be the most "optimum" place to put a subwoofer, but when the significant other gives you no choice it is the safest place. ;)
