Got mine on Monday - sounds and feels good so far.
Have any other VTF3MK2 owners had a problem with their sub sinking into a relatively plush pile carpet ? I can put my hand underneath my sub and feel the rubber surround and carpet - I've got about less than 1/2 inch clearance - would this impact the excursion of the woofer ?

This has come up before. I wonder if slightly longer brass feet are available?

I bought round casters with tiny plastic spikes (made of hard plastic )from Home Depot ( you can get it also at Lowe's). It's about 2" in diameter. I believe they are used for the feet of table resting on carpet. It about $2.50 for set of 4. You just need to drill on the center ( but not all the way through) to keep the sub spikes on the center. Work's good for me, it raises the sub just enough so the driver or speaker does not touch the carpet. Hope that helps.

I had an STF2 from the first batch - maybe HSU should supply a set of the plastic feet like the STF3 as they would work better for carpets - I don't have very plush carpets but I can imagine that if I did, the woofer would be right into the carpet pile.

Some have suggested putting a coin under the spikes. However, Dr. Hsu suggested that would just give the sub something to rattle against. I've put rubber furniture coasters between my spikes and the throw rug the sub sits on.

Coin solution sounds interesting. One could drill a 1/16" hole through the center of 4 pennies, then put the tip of the brass spike in the hole. Given the weight of the speakers and the softness of copper, the brass spike would not move around and would not buzz. The speaker would settle into the carpet some, but not nearly as much as it would with just the spikes.
Just my .04 :D

doesn't the round casters defeat the purpose of the spikes?
