Hi,
Recently purchased a pair of HB-1 MK2's, and the sound is un-centered as its emanating strongly from the right side. I get sound from both speakers, but when sitting down I feel the music is really only coming from the right side.
Speakers are eight feet apart, one foot apart from the wall, and I'm sitting about twelve feet away just at speaker level.
They are connected to an Arcam receiver and Marantz cd player. No sub, just two speakers.
Do the speakers need to be broken in to get the sound centered? Am I sitting in the wrong place? What can I do to center the sound?
Thanks for the help.

Over two hundred views and no replies...is this a unique problem?
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried swapping the speakers with each other? If you have, is the sound still coming primarily from the right? If so, then it probably isn't the speakers. If the sound moves to the left, then you probably have defective speaker.

As you swap the speakers take a close look at the wire feeding the right speaker. Look for any damage on both the speaker and amp end of the wire as well as any damage along the wire. Also, You can quickly tell if it's the amp by swapping the speaker wires at the amp end to see if the problem moves or stays with the right side. If it stays on the right side it's either an amp problem or a setting in the amp. If it moves with the wiring it's either the wiring or the speaker.
Let us know what you find out.

Thanks all for the help.
I first switched just the speakers, and sound was still uncentered toward the right. Doesn't seem to be a problem with the speakers.
I then switched cables on the amp side (kept speakers as is) and sound was uncentered on the left!
Does this indicate a problem with the speaker wires or the amp?

If you switched the cables and now the sound is primarily from the other side, it is most likely the cables are defective. You should replace them. Or at least the one that leads to the speaker with the lower volume.

No... if you swapped the wires at the amp end only and the problem moved to the other speaker then your problem is with your amp or its setup.

do you have more than one audio source to your amp?
If so, is the balance problem with all sources?
Could be the source feeding the amp or interconnect cables?

Thanks again for all the help.
I only have one source, a CD player.
The balance setting on the amp is correct. Interconnects looks fine as well.
I will try just swapping the wires and not just on the amp side to see what happens.
