The driver in my 12va is blown. I sent a message to tech support who recommended a VTF-3 driver. Someone else told me the drivers are different and the enclosure needs to be modified which isn't easy. Is this true?. Are there any upgraded drivers worth considering?

Cutout diameter is the same, so theoretically it would be fine to use that driver...

Pete,
I have the same problem as Merlin. I have two questions. 1.) What is the cut-out diameter for the 12" woofer in the HRSW12Va ? 2.) If I wanted to use another woofer replacement speaker, what type of specs do I need to look for as far as Ohm rating, enclosure volume, speaker dimensions, etc. ?
I also have the Hsu external crossover network (aprox. 2"x7"x6") that I haven't hooked-up to my new Pioneer VSX-94TXH receiver (I've been using the "sub out" instead of the crossover until I blew the 12" woofer). Would you mind telling me how to do this ? I'm using a Hafler 300 watt mono-block amp to power my HRSW12Va. Thanks.

Phil, I'm not sure what the exact cutout dimensions are, you might want to send an email to techsupport about that. You can pose the other questions to them too. Thanks
