I currently have a VTF-3 MK3 paired with Axiom M60's, VP150 center, QS8 surrounds with an Onkyo 805. The sound out of this setup is great, but I want to add some more bass impact. Is my next move to get the MBM or another VTF-3 MK3 or maybe just adding the turbo? This setup is used 95% of the time to watch movies.

How big is your room ?

Have you done any SPL and freq measurements?

Where is your sub placed and have you tried moving it around ?

Are you using the 3 3 in MB or MO setting ?

We will need more information to help you.

20 x 30

No, I do not have an SPL meter.

It is currently in the left front corner of the room. I have tried other locations, and it sounds best here. The TV is centered on a 20ft wall.

Are you using the 3 3 in MB or MO setting ?
I have tried both and have settled on the bass extension mode.

We will need more information to help you.

My room is a bit smaller than yours at 4200cf, assuming you have 8' celings you have 4800cf.

It is hard to say if you should add another 3 3 or MBM. I do not think the Turbo will gain you much for movies but could.

With out knowing what you are lacking or want more of in bass it is tough to say.

Taking some SPL readings and knowing what you fell you need more of would help. 2 MBMs upfront woth your mnains and the 3 3 behinf listen position will give more mid bass overhead. 2 3 3s will give you the deeper bass overhead.

Right now I have my 3 3 T behind the couch with driver facing the back of the couch about 8" gap. Pete suggested 2" but I find the constant vibration in the couch to be distracting. I like the 8" gap best so far. I just added a second MBM which both are up front, just received the 2nd MBM lastnight.

Have not done a lot of measuring and listening yet but I think my bass is now to the point that my mains are running out of overhead which tells me I about right unless I want to upgrade mains which would make for a visious circle.

I did listen to one of my favorite songs lastnight at -5 on the AVR comfortably which is much higher than I have ever be able to do before. I was at about 102db. Not killer numbers by some people standards but for it is just fine.

So, in summary determine what it is you are looking for, more mid bass or deep bass or both.
