Yamaha 1400 or 2400 with VT-12s? (Denon 2803, 3803,HK 430, 7200)

Has anyone listened to the VT-12s with either of the Yamaha 1400 or 2400 receivers? I hear that these Yamaha receivers are less bright than their older models and am wondering if anyone can provide any info. I have purchased HK receivers in the past and love the sound. (Currently have the HK 310 hooked up to the VT-12s and love the sound, but I'm looking for component video switching, upconversion, and the DPLIIx options)

I'm also considering the following if anyone has this setup:

Denon 2803
Denon 3803
HK 430
HK 7200

I'm running with a h/k 230, vt-12 and stf-2. I have been very pleased with the sound.

i'm in the twin cities of mn if you'd like a taste...

i've also seen the vt12,stf2 and h/k 230 at (shudder) compUSA-although it wasn't all hooked up.... just centers and front

I've heard good things about H/K in general, but over at HSU we particularly like the value of the Onkyo 501 or 601.
