I was out in SOCAL this past week, and thought it would be fun to head over to HSU to meet Pete, and check out the new sub. I currently own the HO/Turbo and the MBM, and have been considering an upgrade to the ULS(or a set of twins :D ).
While I know the sound I get out of the demo room will not match my own home, I was able to switch back and forth between the HO Turbo and the ULS, to see how this new sub would benefit me. I must say I was completely impressed! I had Pete switching back and forth and back and forth and back :D He never complained one bit! Although I did notice some swelling in his fingers after I left :D

Not sure how to describe the sound difference. I guess tighter would be a good word, but it's more pronounced with less boom......make sense? The new sub really fills the room. Not that the HO/Turbo didn't fill the room, but the ULS does it more elegantly. Sorry, I guess theres a reason I don't demo/write for a living :D

Anyhow, thank you Pete! You are truely a professional! Glad I had the opportunity to finally place a face with a name. Nice to know who I've been sending all my money to over the past 6 years :D Expect an order as soon as my new room is finished.

It was a real pleasure meeting you Nick, and thanks for being so patient after the other gentleman came in for a demo!

One thing I should mention is that when you came in, the ULS prototype was just sitting on the floor with a soft cloth underneath. I was busy helping to build a sub right before you came, so all I had time to do was place the sub on the floor with a soft cloth underneath. Our floor and the soft cloth are kind of slippery, so after you left, I listened a little bit more and noticed that the ULS could actually move around a bit on the slippery surface! So we found some old rubber feet, and after using that, the sub is perfectly stable and sounds better too :D

One more thing I realized after you left is that the HO/t actually had the crossover set to 'In' at 50Hz. But even so, the ULS-15 has great mid/upper bass impact in comparison, and sounds cleaner and tighter too. When you compared VTF-2 MK3 to ULS-15 each with 80Hz crossover, I think you noticed the difference right away.

All in all, good fun my friend :)
