Question on setup. I have a velodyne hgs 15 as my "true sub" in the left corner and the MBM-12 in the nearfield. Dierectly to the side of my couch, no room behind couch. I have the crossover for my mains set at 80hz from my outlaw 990. Time delay was set w/o mbm and hgs was set for 10ft. the mbm sounds best with a phase of 180deg. Is this normal? Is this the best way to set the delay for the two subs?

Hi aforst,
You should set the subwoofer distance on your receiver equal to the distance between the primary listening position and MBM-12. Set the crossover switch on the MBM-12 to 'Out' (so that the MBM internal crossover is bypassed), and set the Velodyne's low-pass crossover to ~50Hz. Note that the phase switch on the MBM-12 is something to experiment with, and if it sounds better at 180 degrees, then you can leave it there.
Sincerely,
