Hi Sahsa,

I got the subwoofers eventually!!! Thanks! The import duty I paid is less than $50 for the two subwoofers. What a good deal!!

I have switched the subwoofer to integrate amplifier¡¯s pre-out. I set the crosser-over to around 65 HZ and put the VTF-3 close to the right corner of the front wall with the woofer towards to the left corner of the rear wall. It sounds great!!

I got twp questions need your help:

The voltage setting of the VTF-3

To set the input voltage to 230V, do I need to move the input voltage switch up, so that it appears the ¡°230V¡± below? I just want to make sure the voltage I set is correct.

Hum from the VTF-2

My friend, who bought the VTF-2 with me said when he use the three-phase A/C cable, he can easily hear the hum from the VTF-2, even if he was away from the subwoofer. But when he uses the attached converter (two-phase), there¡¯s no hum at all. Why is that?

Stand-by of the subwoofers

Is it safe to leave the subwoofer to stand-by for long time, assuming the input voltage is stable? Please advise.

That¡¯s all questions we have so far. We are doing adjustments to our system and trying to make the subwoofers work well with our current stereo systems. We are looking forward to your instruction regarding the above questions.

Thanks!

Xin Liu

Xliu,

Wonderful! I'm glad everyting arrived securely and that FedEx negotiated a reasonable import duty.

The sub would have shipped in 120 V mode, so you would have to physically move the switch to the right position. I don't have a VTF-3 in front of me now, so can't say if it is the up or down position. Please wait until monday.

The humming is very common because of interference in the ground. The supplied cheater plug fixes that issue.

It is best to keep the VTF-2 in standby mode for a long time, and it was designed for it!

I'm glad that my friend is very satisfied with his VTF-2's performance. Also, I'm very happy with my VTF-3.
:D

What about if I leave my VTF-3 in stand-by mode? I guess it's safe too. ;)

Great subwoofers!!!

Thank you!

Xin Liu

The VTF-3 is designed to be left in standby mode also, and the voltage switch is correctly set to 230 V by pushing the switch towards the 230 V label. I hope you continue to enjoy your subwoofer.

Just out of interest, my Vtf-2 has a switch for multiple input voltages but my Vtf-3 has no such switch or markings like the ones shown in the Xliu pictures. Why and what is the difference or is it an upgraded amp? The official web site images also shows no such switch and different markings.

The only difference is the voltage switch. We added that to some of our amps so people in 220-230V countries can use our subs. Now, starting next week, all of our VTF-3s will have the ability to switch to the higher voltage. Little by little we are adding new features.
