I currently have a VTF-2 in a room that's 13' by 20' enclosed with an 8 foot ceiling. The sub sounds great and is positioned in the corner next to the couch. Came across some extra cash and now I'm considering either:

1. selling the VTF-2 and upgrading to the VTF-3

2. purchasing another VTF-2 (or STF-2) and placing it on the other side of the couch

3. do nothing and simply enjoy what I have.

Question for all Hsu-ites -- What would you do and why?

You would get roughly the same SPL's with either... The VTF-3 would give you that extra deep bass into the teens in your room, plus the additional headroom, where an Extra VTF-2 would give you what you already have, but with more headroom...

I would sell the VTF-2 and get the VTF-3... you will love what 18 Hz bass sounds like (and feels like)

I recently got a used STF-2.

I own a VTF-3 and it is in a 14x18x8-9 room. Like Craig said, the STF-2 only gives way to the deepest stuff to the VTF-3. In terms of output, the STF-2 is fine for my room.

If you really want the deeper bass, then the VTF-3 would be fun, otherwise save the money or upgrade somethingelse.

Once nice thing about having more than one subwoofer is that you would have additional flexibility to tune the room acoustics. That flexibility may not apply if your have already decided on placing them according to furniture considerations.
