say guys i was wondering if you can help me, is there a standard, imagine there must be, as to what's considered left, right, for front speakers and what's left, right, for rears i know it's a dumb question but in automobiles when you're in the drivers seat left side is drivers side, passengers side is the right whether your in the car or not, is that the same for speakers and can some one be so kind as to tell me i'm settin up my 5.1 (well 5 for now till i get my vtf-1) speakers in my room and need to know if when looking @ the t.v. is the left speaker going to the left terminal on the receiver and if so do i look over my left shoulder and say that's the left or do i face the rears and say it's the right (stop laughing wanna get this right). thks, jerry.

It's exactly as you assumed Jerry, just like an automobile - as you sit in the listening position facing the TV, your left main and left surround are both literally on your left.

Cheers,
Ross
