In a recent article in TWICE (This Week in Consumer Electronics), wireless audio gets re-evaluated. Early wireless did not reward early adopters with good sound quality. The article suggests that now people may not be so finicky about a slight degradation in sound quality in rear surrounds, and that quality is improving as well. A $200 - $300 price tag for a wireless amplifier is now a reality.

I think something that people forget about wireless speakers is the fact that you need to power them. So instead of running relatively easy speaker wire you need to drop power to each location.
Also, I wonder if they employ any error correction for lost data. If so, would that throw off the phasing of the speakers and If not, would any 2.5 GHz device (corless phone, microwave) degrade the sound quality?
