Here's the situation:
Living room (opens into kitchen) is roughly 3000 SF (including kitchen), carpet in living room is a long pile.
Subwoofer will have to be situated in the corner to the right of the TV, with the rear of the sub facing the right wall.
On left side of the sub will be a loveseat that is perpendicular to the main viewing couch.
With the VTF 3.3 the cone is on the left side, this would be firing directly into the side of the loveseat. Is this a problem? I wasn't sure if there was a recommended distance to keep away from the cone. We wanted to use the sub as a faux end table. I always heard that down firing helped the sound/rumble spread easier throughout the room, so if I get a side firing sub I didn't want to hinder it anymore with the loveseat (if that is indeed true?)
Or if using the VTF 2.3 to avoid this, will the long pile carpet lessen the effect enough to be concerned?
