I bought 2 ASW1201 subs from Hsu a few years ago.I'm trying to build new enclosures for them. My last 2 attempts left alot to be desired in the SQ area. Icould use some help please. I need to know your recommended boxsize and style and placement.I've got a Ford E-150 low top conversion van.I could corner load them by the rear doors between the rearwheel wells and the rear doors. I could place them under mybench seat that sits behind the front captains chairs but whichway should the drivers face.Towards the front, rear, top or sides. I have lots ofpossibilities and space.Head unit: Blau San FranciscoEQ: Pioneer EQ6500 w/ parametric sub adjustSub Amp: ADS PQ20 (2 x 200w @4ohms)Fronts and Rears: Directed Studio Components s650Mid/Tweet Amps: 2 ADS PH15 (3 x 100w @4ohms each)All wiring is from Stinger. 4 gauge pwr wire, etcThanks in advance for your help!

For musical SQ, a sealed enclosure will work best in a cabin like yours. A 1.6 sq. ft enclosure, LOOSELY filled with fiberfill or non-flammable insulation will work. Try to eliminate vibrations by applying something like Dynamat to the offending area in the car. Also, use an amplifier with at least 150 watts of power.

Is the 1.6 cf box for both subs or for 1?
Do I have to add for the driver displacement?
btw my ADS PQ-20 amp is rated at 200w x 2 @ 4 ohms.
Do you think a separate box per sub located in each rear corner of my van would sound the best? (about 13 feet behind the drivers chair)
Or would 1 box with 2 separate chambers located under my middle bench seat (about 3 feet behind my drivers captains chair) sound better?
Thanks so much for your input!

To answer your questions:
1. For each sub.
2. Yes.
3. Is the amp bridgeable? Or you can run your subs in stereo..
4. 1 box with 2 seperate chambers will work best, very close to the rear door. Also, point your woofers towards the back of the van, you'll get more bass that way. Don't forget to take Sascha's advice about sound deadening. You don't have to use Dynamat. Me and my friends have used roofing barrier you can get from any local Home Depot.
