What about various wall mountings? how much does it muck up the sound by putting them close to the wall? thinking of universal ball type mounts.

How well does the ventriloquest blend with 100Hz xover?

I have the STF-1 and seems like it would like a lower xover point with my current setup. my receiver only has 100hz.

Common audiophile lore states it is better to place the speakers away from the wall, and to also treat the adjacent areas around the speaker with sonex or other sound absorbing materials.

However, whether this will really reduce your enjoyment of the speakers is a seperate question, and depends on your sensitivity as a listener.

As for your other question, the ventriloquist should work fine with a 100 Hz crossover. I'll leave it to others to verify or disprove this statement.

does the VT-12 have wall mounts incorporated into the design? If not, what have ppl used to wall mount?

Thanks,

Brian

The VT-12 satellites have metal screw holes to which one can bolt standard mounts. The center speaker does not have mounting holes; it is intended to sit on the stand that comes with it. Since I wanted to mount it on ceiling beams, I had to drill screw holes in the box.
