I am considering the purhcase of the Ventriloquist VT-12 speaker system and the STF-2 subwoofer. They would be connected to a Yamaha RX-V750, 7.1 channel receiver with 100 watts per channel. My room is 14 x 21 ft with 10ft
ceilings and I was wondering if this speaker system would work for me. Any
input is appreciated.

I'd get the STF3 although I had the same system in a similar sized room and it sounded just fine. I believe Dr Hsu recommends a "3" for your size room. :)

I have a room with 10' ceilings that is a bit bigger than yours, and Dr. Hsu recommended the -3. I haven't regretted getting the -3R.

If your room doesn't have any unclosable room openings, the 10 inch subs will work fine in your room. However, I'd agree with Tdekany and Retread about getting the 12 inch subwoofers. :D It is quite nice to have more headroom and subwoofer that is not pushing as hard to fill the room.
