Ok folks, I have longed for the HSU VTF-2 subwoofer for quite some time. I finally got the money together and found it had been redesigned and is now called the HSU VTF-2 MK 2.

I went ahead and ordered it, but I am now wondering if I made a mistake. I have yet to find any reviews that are specifically for the MK2 version. I have yet to read any comparison reviews.

What's the word on this? My order is backordered for 3-4 weeks. I can find the older model new for under $475.

What to do? Thanks.

The mk2 is definitely a more snazy package that is much more WAF friendly. (Although I like the old finish just fine) Its performance is at least the equal if not slightly better than the mk1.

But with improved reliability from the new cooler running amp and the improved driver, it now means its an even tougher and longer lasting package. You would not loose either way, but if I was specing a subwoofer in your sized room I would seriously look at the STF-3, as it will give you a lot more control in that sized room. I know its more money than the VTF-2, but for the amount of gain (IMO) it is the bargain buy in the Hsu higher performance range.
