Some Sub integration questions before I buy..

I'm hoping someone could help me out with sub integration into my current setup before I buy a VTF-3 MK3. My current setup is "PC-->USB Constantine+DAC-->Jolida 1501rc--> Paradigm Studio 20v4". I need to a get sub into my digital setup because I can't stand listening to music on my PC without deep bass anymore. The Jolida 1501 is just a tube pre amp with 100watt solid state output power and it has a sub output, but crossover is set on the sub. I've tried using the sub output with an Axiom EP500 sub from my hometheater setup and it would not work.

Any way this is a case where my pre/amp has no bass management whatsoever and I was wondering if I buy a VTF-3 MK3 with a High Pass Filter will solve my problem? The reason I'm asking is because I can't tell how the High Pass Filter, Subwoofer and Amp will be connected together to manage bass. Also, is going this route with a High Pass Filter a good idea sonically or should I just put aside the Jolida and get a VTF-3 and another surround receiver to do 2.1 setup?

From what I can see on Jolida's website, your amp does not appear to have a main-in. In order to make use of an external high pass filter, your integrated amp must have a main-in. I would suggest going for a receiver with bass management.
