phatster, this would lower the port tuning even further!

Thanks for that comment Pete...I'm going to experiment with extending my current turbo with another 6-9 extension tube, may even increase the tubes to a 6" diameter......just having some fun...will report findings.I assume the bigger the port in diameter the lower the note...however it my become too loose,we will see.

phatster, I don't recommend further extending the port length vs what you currently have with the Turbo. The problem with further lowering the port tuning is that you will have higher distortion and lower output capability above 16Hz. The performance and long-term reliability will be worse if you further try to lower the port tuning.

We all have fooled around with our HSU subs trying to improve what the good Dr. has already perfected. It doesn't get any better then what he has designed. If you want more "omph" get a second sub! I have two 3.3's co-located and with my room configuration I get down to around 15 hz or so in Max Output (no turbos) with lots of detail and slam. Think about a second sub.

Despite your advice I tred a TEMPORARY experiment with increasing the lenght of the port.I attached an extension of 6" to each port coming out of the turbo{this was achieved with 4" pvc} and folks it increases the bottom end just a little, what Pete states is true in that the overall sound becomes muddy when the volume is raised,it would be possibly useful in low volume settings.....analogous to useing a loudness control.Anyway, with this done no more monkeying around for me.The recommendations by Hsu ARE the real deal! Thanks again for a great product and customer service.
