Do the hsu subs come with discs for the spikes to protect hardwood floors like the Outlaw LFM-1 does? I read that hsu subs are designed to sit on carpet, is this also true of the LFM-1? I need to get a hardwood friendly sub. Thanks.

to get the benefit of the best, just put a small rug underneath the Hsu sub. End of story! :D

Garyb,

sorry, just found your post and this may be old news. My VTF-3R came with large polished brass adjustable feet, no discs. I would use regular furniture-type discs if you place it on a hardwood floor. My sub weighs 90 lbs, but its on carpet. I would personally base my decision on the sub itself. Service through Hsu is even better than Outlaw (I have products from both companies). Have you made a decision on which sub you want? BTW, I upgraded to the new amp, therefore giving me a Mk II VTF-3. I couldn't be more pleased, both for music (crossover at 40 Hz) and HT (crossover at 80 Hz). Good luck!

you should do a search. imo, rugs are useless b/c for me, it ate right thru it in an hour. you can get discs - i almost bought some new spikes just for the discs that came w/ them. but i ended up using little leather tiles that i got from work.

some people said you can use pennies or other small change but that didn't work very well for me either.

tgrisham,

When you say you are using two different crossover points, are you doing that from within your Outlaw receiver/preamp/whatever or are you manually twisting knobs on the VTF when you switch between movies and music?

Thanks,
Jeff
