Hello,

I have the MBM-12 coming on Friday, hopefully, and was wondering what the crossover settings should be on my Pioneer Elite VSX-01TXH?

Right now the crossover on the Pioneer is set at the recommended THX setting of 80hz for all speakers. I have the VTF-3 MK3 which is set to crossover "out", which if I recall correctly, is bypassing the subs crossover.

Do I leave the crossover setting alone on the Pioneer and change the crossover setting to "in" on the VTF-3 MK3? If so, what should it be set to?

When the MBM comes, what should I set the crossover to on that one?

Will the MCACC auto calibration on the Pioneer recognize the second subwoofer when I run the test? Also, when I change the SW dB on the Pioneer, will it change it for both subs, or will it have SW1 and SW2.

Sorry for all the questions, hopefully they make sense.:) I am quite the noob when it comes to these things.

Thanks for your help.

Your are fine with just one 80hz crossover applied...(Use the one from the receiver)
Use the 3.3 xover in the "out" position...
When the MBM comes set the MBM to xover to "Out", set the 3.3 to "in" and dial the internal xover knob to 45hz or 50hz, in the back of the sub, whichever sound better to you...
You will need to fine tune some things that the MCACC calibration won't probably make it perfect...You can ask here or contact HSU directly...

Calibrating the MBM & 3.3 can be tricky as I know being that I have two pairs of them. First, go to this site for everythikng to do with setting up a HT (subwoofer section applies to you):http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=824554. Now here are the instructions for setting up the MBM & 3.3: http://forum.hsuresearch.com/showpost.php?p=33939&postcount=33.

I think you have your subs backwards in your advice. You want the 3.3 to cross over around 45 or 50Hz and thus you want to set it to IN. Set the MBM's crossover as high as it'll go on the MBM itself and select OUT.
