Do any of you that have VT-12 speakers have a receiver with MCAAC and can it accurately calibrate your speakers? I have a set of VT-12 speakers with the SFT-1 sub coming in next week and I'll be purchasing a Pioneer VSX-D914 receiver shortly. It has MCAAC and I was wondering if any of you had experience with this. TIA

in my case (in two very different rooms) with two different subs (stf2 & stf3) it was right on.

I'm glad it worked for you. I was thinking that possibly its use of the ventriloquist technology would throw off the settings some. Thanks for your input. Can't wait to get mine!

I recently moved, and just ran the MCACC calibration last night with my VSX-D912K receiver, and the Ventriloquist speakers. I currently only have the front three speakers, and the sub hooked up, but they sound great after the calibration.

I also used the MCACC at my old house, and was a bit disappointed, I was almost unable to hear the surround channels, and had to bump them up a bit manually. I also adjusted the sub up a bit.

The jury's still out on the sub, and obviously the rear speakers, this time, but I am very happy with the results of calibrating the front speakers. I do not believe there is any problem with using the Ventriloquist feature and MCACC.

I don't have a SPL meter yet. I intend to get one soon, and will be able to check to see if any problems (assuming I get some again) are with the MCACC, or my ears. Good luck.

Any difference to the sound balance after using the RS spl meter and MCACC is negligiable. Both are not going to be the last word in precision (let alone the Pioneer having fine enough adjustment to be called precision). My good friend uses MCACC and he found the MCACC to be just as accurate as me doing it manually with an RS meter.

About the only downside to the MCACC Pioneer is no crossover lower than 100Hz, but with decent positioning thats not the end of the world. Nothing in that sort of price range is perfect or fault free.

I used one as well to check the MCACC. Worked for me and in both systems the rears are right on. :p
