Hey guy's at hsu and every one on forums.
I had this sub for about a year now and i love it,it's a Vtf-1 10", sound like i have a problem or a user error. I was going to demo my system for a friend of mind today a demo of "kung fu panda",Will some reason the bass is very low i mean you can hear it but it sounds like it's in sleep mode or some thing.
I unplug the sub woofer and plug it back in etc,I have the sub woofer set to out and using the two ports exstentions and set to 25 hz,and the receiver set to 80 hz etc. I didn't touch any of my settings since day 1. I also made sure the out let wasn't loose and it wasn't it was plug in. I'm not sure what's going on. I also touch the amp plate and it wasn't even hot or warm so i'm stuck.
Anyone here had any issues like this were the bass suddnely went quiet when you know it wasn't like that the other day?:(

Hi Marc,

Does the led on your subwoofer amplifier stay red, or turn green when receiving signal? If you unplug the subwoofer cable from your receiver and tap on the end of it (leaving the other end plugged into the subwoofer), do you hear any noise coming from the subwoofer?

I assume that you are running the subwoofer with one port plugged, and bass extension switch set to '1 port open - 25Hz mode', is that correct?

Thanks

Sincerely,

"Update, Will i was trying things and i now have my sub woofer to In instead of out,and set the x-over to the highest point 250 on the receiver and the subwoofer to 70 hz on the dial. It seems to be working again,is there a reason why i should use out instead in? the only why i use the out was that some one on avsforum said best to let the receiver to do the hard work.

That's interesting...So if you set the crossover switch on the subwoofer amp to 'Out', and set subwoofer crossover on the receiver at, say, 80Hz, you don't get any output from the sub?

Setting the crossover switch on the sub to 'Out' simply bypasses the subwoofer's internal crossover, therefore using only the crossover on the receiver. Setting it to 'In' engages the subwoofer's internal crossover, in addition to the crossover on the receiver.

What crossover settings do you have on the receiver for each speaker and subwoofer? Also, what channel level do you have for each speaker and subwoofer?

Thanks
