View Full Version : Stf-2 subsonic filter?

Does this sub have a built in subsonic filter to prevent very low infrasonic frequencies below 20Hz from overloading the driver at high volumes? If not is it suggested as possible accessory? I am concerned about some BD titles like Hulk, Cloverfield and Transformers having this extension. Thanks.

Hi Digiti,

The STF-2 does have a subsonic filter below the port tuning frequency (around 25Hz). Just keep in mind that the bass might be running a bit "hot" in some of those Blu Ray tracks, so you may want to back down on the subwoofer channel level on the receiver when you play those discs.

Sincerely,

Thanks Pete for the fast reply. I am glad an additional component is not necessary.
