I know this is a HSU forum, but I still would like some help/information on deciding between subs. One of which is not a HSU. I'm deciding between a velodyn dls-4000r and vtf-2mk3. My room is 12x24 with 8ft ceiling. There is an opening to the stairs that go to the second floor. The opening is the the left and the sub will be in the front right corner. I use my setup 90% for movies/T.V. The reason I'm undecided is because I can get the velodyne for about $150 less. The second question is, if the hsu is the clear winner, is the 2mk3 enough sub or would I need the 3mk3.($350 increase over the velodyne) If it matters I have Paradigm monitor 7 for my fronts. ADP-190 surrounds and cc190 center with a Yamaha RX-V863. Hope you can help

I had a CHT-12 which is similar to the 12" version of the DLS model...(5000r..I think...).
The VTF-2 MK3 is in another level of performance. Simply a lot more powerful, and with more extension.

i think the vtf-2mk3 would be the way to go. The vtf-2mk3 is listed for large rooms up to 4500 cubic feet. Your room is 2300 cubic feet. Even including that opening its probably under 4500. I think vtf-2mk3 is definatly worth the extra coin.
