I have an old Parasound HCA 1000A 2 channel amp. It is rated:

Continuous Power Output - Stereo: 125 watts RMS x 2, 20 Hz - 20 kHz, 8 ohms, both channels driven; 200 watts RMS x 2, 20 Hz - 20 kHz, 4 ohms, both channels driven

It can be bridged for mono operation but that would require a 8 ohm load.

Will the HCA-1000a work with the 1220 and the hsu bass optimizer?

Could I drive two 1220's? One on each of the parasound channels?

I don't believe my parasound has "soft clipping". Is that important?

1-2) The parasound will work (with the Bass Optimizer). Since it is rated at 200 Watts per channel at 4 ohms when using two channels, it can power two TN-1220s as well. :)

3) The soft clipping is only important if you play your subwoofers very loudly. It will prevent the subwoofer and your ears in this situation a bit. However, if you listen at sane levels it will not make a big difference.
