View Full Version : Does my VTF subwoofer come with a test CD, warranty card, and cotton cover?

Hmm...while I've detailed my satisfaction with my VTF-3, and with my dealer, in another thread, I'm not sure if I'm missing something in the box. I thought the VTF-3MK2 was shipped with a protective blanket of sorts, and with a CD of deep-bass test-tones and musical pieces. My sub was packed with neither of these items. Is my understanding incorrect? If not, with whom do I deal? Hsu support? My dealer? The Canadian distributor?
Also, the carton did not include any warranty registration card. Am I required to submit my name and address and serail number to Hsu in order to validate my warranty? Kindly advise, and thanks for any help you might provide :).
BTW guys, my VTF-3MK2 does not have an illuminated logo, and it really doesn't matter that much to me. Cheers.

Dave,
The VTF-3 MK 2 is great, isn't it? The test disk for mine was in the shipping envelope taped to the outside of the shipping boxes. There wasn't any protective blanket, but the sub was securely protected inside of two cardboard boxes.
Cheers,
Dave

Same results for me (plus the sub was in a plastic bag too). I didn't get a warranty card either, but I'm hoping that since I ordered directly from Hsu, they already have the necessary details...

Only the gloss black and rosewood have the cloth bag. The matt black gets the plastic. The Bas cd-r of organ and test signals came taped on the outside. Hsu have never used cards for warranty. Its warranty is based on serial numbers and original invoice.

Thanks for your help, fellas. I don't suppose the cloth bag is a big deal one way or the other, but the CD is something of which I can likely make use. No sign of it on my carton. How might I go about getting one, in this case? Cheers.

Dave,
Only the "High Gloss" and "Rosewood" VTF-3 MK 2s come with the soft cotton cover. The matte black is shipped in thick plastic. That might explain the lack of the cover.
Currently, we include a Test CD who buy factory direct. For those who buy through dealers, we can ship you the CD for $5 shipping/handling. Give Candi, Jo Jo, Sam, or Leo a call at 1-800-554-0150 to order one.

As for the warranty card, we don't include one. All that is needed is the sales invoice and serial number. Give us a call with that information, and you will be protected.

Thanks for your response, Sasha. Would it be acceptable to e-mail the info to the company? If so, can you provide the e-mail address for the appropriate department? Thanks again, sir. Cheers.

You mean our email (sales@hsuresearch.com)?

Yep, that's what I mean, Sasha. Is one method of registration preferred over the other (sales@hsuresearch.com, or the 1-800 number)? And does the toll-free number work for us in Canada?
Thanks very much, and cheers.

I just purchased the Ventriloquist and STF-2 factory direct and did not receive a test CD. Should I have received it?
How about creating a download page with the test CD tracks encoded as MP3 and thus available for us to download and create our own CD?
Thanks

Hi Sasha,
Does Hsu make a profit at $5 for the CD or is the charge purely to cover the costs ??
I'm all for profit, and if you do, more power to ya.
If it's just to cover costs, why not put the CD on-line for download. I saw the test tracks, but it's not everything, plus it's a bit more difficult to download them individually.
Just a thought.

The charge is purely to cover the shipping and handling costs. The Boston Audio Society doesn't let us sell them or give away the music tracks online. :(

The first shipment of VTF-3 to Canada did not include the test CD but we now have one we can make copies of. Anyone who's purchased a VTF-3 Mk2 from Home Digital can request a copy by writing to sales@homedigitalav.com
