I know these two systems are in different classes and with sub the ELT is about twice as expensive. I am a novice but we do have surround sound that I added as in-wall speakers when we remodeled the rec room about 10 years ago. Now that we are replacing the carpet I want to run new speaker wires and puchase matching HT speakers.
My budget amount for this project is somewhat higher than my wife's budget - surprise, surprise! I showed her the Rocket ELT speakers and the Ventriloquist speakers. She favors the Ventriloquist.
I would prefer the ELT step up but I have to agree, at twice the price for people that aren't videophiles, perhaps it's not worth it. We use the speakers primarily for HT and also for DVD-audio and regular CD. Primarily HT. We have a 6.1 receiver and wide screen TV.
Has anyone auditioned the Rocket ELT and if so do you have an opinion on the relative quality of the ELT vs. the Ventriloqist (to include the STF-2)?
Thanks
