I just recieved my vtf-3 mk3 yesterday. very pleased with the output of the sub but cant get the bass to my listening postion. I am running the sub as reinforcment for my klipsch k-horns so that kinda ruins the idea of placing the subs in the front corners of my room. I would sure like to see the wireless option come to the other subs offered. is there any stand alone wireless options availabe for connecting the sub to the source? also I play my k-horns at pretty high levels. is it ok to run the sub almost all the way up on the volume level at the sub? I do not want to damge the sub. also I am looking to gain a bit more in sound level for ocassional dance parties:) how much can I expect to gain by adding one more of the same sub?

Hi bigblaze,
Could you work up a rough sketch of your room, including dimensions,. openings to other areas, and current subwoofer and main seating positions?
The safest way to run the subwoofer is to set the volume knob on the sub at ~ 9 or 10 o'clock, start with the subwoofer channel level on the receiver at +0db, and then increase the subwoofer channel level upward in 1db increments to your tastes (note that most people don't bump it up more than 2 or 3db).
Adding a second identical subwoofer will generally make a very nice improvement in sound quality and output capability, so it should help out quite a lot.
I think there are some stand alone wireless devices that can be used. You may want to search the "Speakers and Subwoofers" forum for "wireless" and see what comes up!
Sincerely,

turning the volume up all the way on the sub is not a good idea.

I will work up a room layout as soon as I can. I am also running the subwoofer from the second output on a mcintosh c15 preamp. I am running a tube amp to the k-horn's. there is no sub output on the preamp. I am using the subwoofers crossover.

Thanks bigblaze. So you are feeding the left/right inputs on the -3 MK3, is that correct? Where is the subwoofer crossover set at right now?
