Very cool! I'd love to go, but I'm sure that's not in the cards for me right now. I'm looking forward to hearing about how the show goes, so make sure to give us a report! I'd love to hear about how some of these exotic speakers sound.

DavidD October 1st, 2011 7:07 PM

OK, Pete. Now I feel even worse about not being there. I hope you're satisfied...

Pete_Hsu October 2nd, 2011 5:59 PM

LOL. You will be there in spirit my friend ;)

Todd G. October 3rd, 2011 10:03 AM

Hope to see you there!

kwolfskill October 3rd, 2011 1:22 PM

I'm also excited to get a chance to see, and hear, my favorite speaker company in Denver :)

fruitpunch.ben October 3rd, 2011 4:14 PM

Any chance you can extend the show specials to online for those of us who can't make it to Denver? :)

Pete_Hsu October 3rd, 2011 4:26 PM

Thanks guys, look forward to seeing you there too!

Welcome to the forum Ben. We will have to reserve show specials for those who come to the show. If anything, this is some compensation for the time and money that one spends to come to the show and visit our booth :)

Sincerely,

Todd G. October 14th, 2011 7:49 AM

Well, I wanted to go, but work is interfering today. And doing work around the house this weekend will get in the way.

Enjoy Denver guys!

Oh, well. How about some pictures?

I'll be up there Sunday Pete, can't wait to meet the HSU crew!

Pete_Hsu October 15th, 2011 6:15 AM

Cool, see you then!

Great show! Had a chance to meet Dr. Hsu and crew. Very welcoming and friendly bunch of folks and as always, a great demo room. Those bookshelves are not to be overlooked. If you're on a tight budget they really should be considered.

I ended up taking home the demo VTF-15H at a very nice show discount, plus we placed an order for a second for a dual setup. I even persuaded Dr. Hsu to sign the sub for me before they boxed it up.;)

Todd G. October 16th, 2011 7:06 PM

Nice grab--I'm jealous. Too much else going on for me to make time to get to the show--some other time perhaps.

Pete_Hsu October 17th, 2011 1:47 PM

It was a real pleasure to see you guys, thank you to all who were able to attend!

Matt, congratulations on having such a wonderful family, with the soon-to-be addition of dual VTF-15H too :) I hope you enjoy listening to them as much as we do!

Sincerely,

hometheatergeek October 17th, 2011 4:35 PM

So Pete, Where are the pictures from the show? I could not afford a 500+ ticket to Denver and you got to ride on the company plane so again where are the pictures... slacker?

Pete_Hsu October 19th, 2011 11:56 AM

LOL, company plane would have been nice, although we did get a drink and a cookie on the way there :D

I have a few pics on my phone. I will try to upload those this week.

Sincerely,

Pete_Hsu October 19th, 2011 12:01 PM

By the way, we had several very well respected members of the audio industry visit us at RMAF 2011, including: Tom Norton, Brent Butterworth, Mark Seaton, Steve Guttenberg, Don Keele, and many others too. Many many thanks to all those who attended!

Man that would have been so cool to meet everyone of those attendees. You of course recorded all of them and plan to upload that to Youtube right? :D

That's some decent company you're keeping Pete. Care to share any quotes from those guys?:)

I really should have tried to take a short video, my bad :o

There was someone who did a video interview with Dr. Hsu, but I'm not sure what publication that is!

No specific quotes that I can recall, but I do know that many people were shocked at how good the HB-1 MK2 horn bookshelf speakers sounded, especially for the money. Quite a few people told us that we had the best sound for the money in the entire show!

Sincerely,

Well at the Newport Beach show last June, I'd have to say the same thing about the HB-1 Mk2's - they compared quite favorably to speakers that cost WAY more. That's a good review of the bookshelves someone posted on this forum the other day, too.

Pete_Hsu October 21st, 2011 8:34 AM

Thanks Rickie, we are very flattered :o

The HB-1 MK2's sounded even better at RMAF vs. T.H.E. SHOW in Newport, and the subwoofers sounded better too!

kwolfskill October 27th, 2011 1:30 PM

Glad the show went well. I was so bummed that life got in the way of me getting to go this year. I hope you come back next year so that when I go, I get to spend some $$$. I had even warned my wife that it might be expensive for me to attend this year. Maybe that was why life suddenly got in the way.

Very cool Pete. Short but very nice to put a face/voice to Dr Hsu.

I remember reading a comment somewhere that Dr. Hsu used Home Depot lamp cords for the speaker wire at the show? If that is true, I think that is brilliant, and also hilarious. I am sure a few people left the Hsu room grumbling when they realized what Dr. Hsu was saying by doing that. So is it true?

I think it is great, and hilarious, too. Personally I don't use lamp cord - I use Blue Jeans Cable but that is in large part because I don't like the way lamp cord looks but I bet I couldn't hear any difference between the two. I visited the Hsu room at the Newport Beach show back in June and thought it was great how they had such a great-sounding setup using such "modest" equipment like a plain old AVR instead of real fancy equipment. The HB-1 Mk 2's and the subs sounded wonderful.

Pete_Hsu December 13th, 2011 9:38 PM

Hey shadyJ,

I'm not entirely sure where Dr. Hsu got the speaker wire, but it was certainly no better than some generic 16 gauge speaker wire! :D

Sincerely,
