5.1 speaker setup?

If I'm only doing a 5.1 setup, should the rear speakers be facing each other (like the instructions) or at an angle (like the fronts)?

Hmmm...I've triple-checked the connections. All + wire goes to red plugs, and all red plugs go to red jacks (same check for the negative wires). Not sure what do now.

As for the crossover, YPAO...

Polarity is wrong?

I used YPAO on my HTR 5760 today (autosetup), and it reports that the polarity on my front right speaker is wrong. I checked all connections, and they look ok. Is this ok, or am I missing something? ...

I've seen the Radio Shack banana plugs, but I don't have the equipment or the knowledge to solder them on. How else can I hook up the rear center speaker? Will spades or something else work?

Radio shack claims the plugs in question will work with 12 ga wire and are screw-on. Is this true? I'm guessing you soldered them for a better installation, but I'd like to make sure.

For my receiver, I ended up getting the Yamaha HTR 5760. Should be a pretty big jump going from:

JVC 20" TV
Built-in speakers on TV
No receiver
PS2 as DVD player
