I don't use an SMS-1, but my understanding is it is easy to use.

I once had a similar noise and also thought it was the sub, only to figure out(after pulling my hair out) that it was a candle holder.

I am really glad Hsu assembles the ULS-15 at Hsu Headquarters. I think it adds an extra level of quality assurance that some ID companies do not have.
