Next to the couch with the VTF-2 should be fine since it's a down firing sub thus will not be quite as localized as the VTF-3 Mk3. It makes a good end table too. :)

Not sure what your budget is but I would imagine that dual ULS-15's would be ideal since your Def Tech fronts already have good bass extention so the ULS's would fill in the bottom registers very...

Now that it seems that the Turbo option is gone I remember speculation about some sort of 'SuperCharger' addon for the VTF-3 that was supposed to be an additional enclosure coupled to the rear ports....

When not using the Turbo I have had my VFT-3's rear ports as close as 8" from a wall and have not noticed any difference in output or performance in my room compared to when the ports were facing...

Don't skimp on this. Get at least the VTF2.3 as a 12" driver is going to give you the extension for both music and movies compared to the 10" driver of the STF-2.

You want to stain a vinyl finish on a VTF-3 Mk3? A very bad idea as vinyl doesn't take stain. Why not just re-vinyl it, or better yet, strip the vinyl and apply a real wood veneer? :confused:
