I would agree with vintage for your budget

The speakers I had through college were >$400 list and with alot of negotiation I bought them for around 250 in 1989 which was a very good value They are the "Legacy II" by Advent which was a potent...

Don't like the lack of turbos...

Sorry you don't have turbo available any more. Pretty happy with my subs output, but wish that option was available (at least as a special order once a year kind of a thing if the price wasn't too...

Happy you found a sub. Hope you enjoy. Curious about your setup.

I have a 46" XBR4 LCD with a viewing distance from 8' to 15' in a large space. your 120" screen with a small room seems liKe an...

Your $100 and my $100 are unlikely to look the same so don't know what to tell you. I don't think VTF3.3 on sale is a bad price for what you get.

Regarding damage, I don't understand what the...

I don't see what's wrong with considering shipping cost in a purchase decision.

I too looked at cost of shipping ($100) when I made my decision on a sub.
There are some guys who ship for free. I don't see how it's "nitpicking."
It's a very competitive market with alot of...

Out of curiousity, is sub expected to last or will need maintenance over time?

I do not push my sub to it's limits. I'm just curious after reading this thread about gorilla glue embrittling over time and needing to install the brace whether the enclosures are expected to last...

Any plan for in-wall sub?

For my small bedrooms, I've been thinking about inwall speakers but would probably need an in-wall STF-1 or STF-2 to make a good system.

Your explanation seems to match what I'm hearing quite well.

Thanks! Don't think the room is vibrating.

Also not hearing any port noise.

I will have to post a vote for Max Extension in the poll.

Again my question is whether the sustained note should sound like it is oscillating

That's the same note I'm talking about. Quite low, quite impressive. The question I have is whether it should have oscillations (like vibrato). I don't really listen to organ music so not sure if...

Haven't had a chance to calirate yet but had a quick question.

So far so good.

Listened to 2nd half of Incredibles tonight. Had to dial down from -10 to -15 to -18dB due to complaints for loudness. THe THere is definately a variation in the LFE within the space but I think...

Corrected a typo. My question remains the same.

The amp calibrated by Audyssey and verified manually was at -6dB with Max Output and I just adjusted it to 0dB to cover the 4dB loss with Max Extension and give it slight bass heaviness for movies. I...

When does port noise become a problem for VTF3.3?

I'm pretty happy with my VTF3.3, have had it in Max Output mode for last 2 years and it's been underwhelmed by my 5500cuft room. Moving it to Max Extension Mode and wondering where that kicks in. ...

If it's so damaging, why don't you have some cover over the switch????

Is there any simple way (other than tape) to lock it in place? I can imagine my kids, my wife, or some idiot at a dinner party flicking switches on it randomly to try to turn the sub off and hitting...

Sorry-- Apparently I haven't learned to tell time.

I have a 3.3 and just bought a Denon AVR-988. I have big room (6000 cu ft) and have both ports open. Audyssey max'd out (-12dB, 0.1ft) unable to set up my sub level with 85dB test tone with a 9...

Sub placed in corner

There is only a small 3' wide hallway leading off of this 39' X 19' X 8' space.

Why Hsu 3.3 more musical than SVS PB12+
