Question regarding a really old STF-2
First of all I love my old STF-2. I have been using it in my home theater for somewhere between 15-17 years. It is by far the oldest equipment in my home theater.2
Within the past few months I've noticed that, at high volume, I am hearing a distortion similar to what it sounds like with a tear in the speaker cone. On examination from the outside of the box, I saw nothing to indicate a tear of any kind. Everything looked and felt to be in working order.
I removed the woofer to see if I could find the cause of the issue thinking I would likely have to replace the woofer with an new one. Once it was out of the box, I noticed the spider's glue hold on the metal magnet base was gone. I resealed it with liquid nails and let it dry for 24 hours.
It sounds as good as new. I realize that over time the repair might not hold. Is there a suggested replacement for A100300-04RBD-HSU 04101SA if it becomes necessary?
Thanks.
