did i screw something up?
I installed my new ventroliquist system on a new Onkyo 502. When I play the Onkyo's "test sound", the speakers are supposed to make sounds in this sequence: Left, Center, Right, Surround Right, Surround Back, SubWoofer.
Mine map as follows: Says: Plays Left: Left Center: Back center Right: Right S-Right: S-Right S-Back: Front center Subwoofer: Subwoofer Did I screw up the wiring, or is this a feature of the "ventriloquist" that the speaker test mapping is off? This is my first surround sound system so it is quite possible i made a mistake... Thanks much! |

You may have just switched the wires. Double check. The test tones will play were the sound track will, so if you don't fix this your dialogue will be coming from behind you.
Easy mistake to make as the center and surround back are on top of each other. Just make sure that your front center is connected to the center (top) speaker terminals and you should be fine. |

![]() You were right! I switched the wires. I rewired, and everything sounds *so* much better now -- thanks!
