Just Ordered a pair of HB-1 and the HC-1

I finally took the plunge today and placed my order for a pair of HB-1 and an HC-1 for my HT. I recently purchased an Onkyo TX-SR706 receiver that I plan to use these with. I also have a Polk PSW650 that I have had for several years that I am planning to keep, but I may have to upgrade once the new speakers arrive. Hopefully they will get here soon!

I will post an update once I get them set up. Thanks in advance Pete!

I am curious also. It seems the setup is something similar to what I am going to do. The receiver I was looking at was the Onkyo TX-SR707 though.

FWIW, I just purchased the Enthusiast 2 package. Bought the VTF-2 first then went back & got the rest of the speakers a couple of weeks later. Still making minor tweaks, but my initial impression is, I love 'em! Sound is very smooth for horn loaded speakers. The VTF-2 blends perfectly with the HB-1s & I'm getting that fat, punchy bass sound I've been wanting for years. I'm very happy with the setup - no complaints at this point. BTW, I listen mostly to jazz, funk, fusion - some rock & vocals - and everything sounds great! Movies of course are awesome - definitely a different (& better) home theater experience.

BTW, I'm driving them with an Onkyo 807 - haven't had the system up extremely loud yet, but loud enough to freak out my wife & not be able to hear the phone, doorbell, or anything else around me. What's interesting is that I didn't realize how loud the system was because it was so clean & smooth. No harshness at all. One reviewer had commented that the HB-1s weren't flat & tended to color the sound - I actually disagree - I find them to be very flat & un-colored. Maybe not quite studio monitors, but way truer than my previous (Paradigm) speakers...

Anyway, thanks to Hsu for producing excellent speakers at affordable prices. And thanks Pete, for the demos. As you can tell, IMHO, highly recommended...
