Rear surrounds? Needed?

I have hybrid package currently with V15 sub...
Play alot of movies with DTS audio. Pretty loud alot.

So how significant would be adding rear surrounds?

They aren't critical to have, but in the right sound mix they can be pretty cool. If your budget isn't tight, I would go for them, as more and more blu rays are getting 7.1 mixes.

Weel, do you really need a V15 or an HT?!?! Of course not, but those rear surrounds can really fill up the space and balance the sound. I just upgraded my receiver to an Onkyo TX-NR1030 to go from 7.3 to 11.3 and I'm thrilled.

I connected four Energy Classic speakers as surrounds and rear-surrounds. I was told music should be pure 2 channels or probably 2.1 at most. I found out playing music in 7.2 is much better. I am not sure why but the sound stage is very "full" wide, deep, and full to my ears. I probably have "defective" ears?
