Deciding between dual Epik Conquests or dual HSU VTF 15hs.

So, I'm trying to decide between getting duals of either of these subs. The HSU's would actually end up costing me more. I'm not too worried about any warranty stuff as the Epik Conquests were built like tanks and had a low failure rate. The Epik Conquests I would be driving to pick up, so no shipping stuff to deal with (same with HSU). So it's dual VTF-15hs for $1400, or dual Epik Conquests for $1000. I am guessing the Epik Conquest would pound the VTF-15h into the dust...

Then why do you even bother asking? Why not troll somewhere else?

Take it easy, I am not trolling. I am asking for honest opinions. I may still go with the VTF-15h as performance is not the only factor I'm considering. Besides, it's not like i said i was expecting the HSU to perform as well as an 18" ported sub that has 1000 watt rms amp and is twice its weight. :P That would obviously be ridiculous to expect THAT much performance.

The Epik Conquest use to sell for something like $1599 compared to $879 for the VTF-15H, so it should outperform the 15H considering it was nearly twice the price.

So I don't understand your questions. It seems like you've already made up your mind. I'm not trying to be a jerk, I just don't understand why your posting if you already answered your own question.

I actually decided to go with dual HSU VTF-15h's. The Conquest is a fantastic sub but is just SO big and cumbersome to work with. This is going to be in a family room, I would go with the Conquests if I was putting them in a dedicated home theater room. I think I'll really love the HSUs.

Don't get me wrong I love my 15H and plan on getting another one, but man I'd have a hard time passing on two Conquest for $1000.

It was hard to pass on, but 1400 mile drive is too far.

Wow! 1400 miles to pick up a couple of subs? I can understand wanting to drive because the shipping would be outrageously high, but I'm with you. I'm not driving 1400 miles to pick up some subs. I would never have considered the Epiks, even if they are two Conquest for $1000 with them being 1400 miles away. I assumed they were a local pick up.

Yeah, we would have been going from Washington to Arizona. 2,800 miles round trip. Yikes. The $1,000 was including gas cost. He was willing to let them go for $300 total for both, but I figured gas was about $700.

OMG $300 for two conquests!!? That is basically the subwoofer deal of the century. That is almost like when someone finds Klipsch La Scalas or Quads at a garage sale for $20.
