STF-1 Subwoofer good for HT?

hi guys,

recently upgraded the avr system and moved the old one into a small bedroom that's been turned into a mini man cave---

how's the stf on home theater? Most comments i've seen are along the lines of 'great for music, okay for HT'... of course, i want better than just ok for HT...

considering the stf-1, Energy VSW10 10, and the BIC PL-200...

any thoughts or experience with either of these?

What are the dimensions (including ceiling height) of the room you will have it in? Also does the room open into any other areas like a dining room? What is your budget? Are you pretty much set on the stf-1 or is your budget flexible?

room size is roughly 11x11ft 8 frt ceiling---spare bedroom--- I already have an old infinity BU 2 in my main vewing room, which is much bigger at 12x16... so I might move the infinity into the smaller room and replace it with whatever i get---there are just so many choices, it makes it hard

I've now narrowed my choices down to the klipsch rw-12d or the stf-2

the klipsch is $299.99 free shipping and the stf-2 is $392.00, just trying to decide if the extra $93.00 is worth it... need to make a decision my tomorrow night, as the klipsch sale is over on 1/16

Hi Wmollie,

The STF-2 is a great small sub for HT, and in a smaller room such as your it shouldn't have any problems pressurizing your listening area.

The STF-2 compares well to the Klipsch subwoofer in terms of frequency response and clean output in the deep bass.

good call- i had the klipsch- very boomy the HSU will be much better for you and your space
