![]() I plan to use 3 HB1's for LCR behind an acoustically transparent screen. It looks like the common wall mounts will put the HB1 rear port within 1-2 inches of the wall - will this have a noticeable impact on sound quality? Is 1 inch too close?
How close can I put the Seymour AT screen to the front of the HB1? Is a 1 inch gap fine? Ken |

I think 2 inches would be good. 1 inch would be a bit close, but I think you'd still be okay if you crossing over at 80 Hz. Having asked in another thread, I can say that plugging the port is also acceptable if you use at least an 80 Hz crossover. You may also want to put some acoustic absorbent material on the wall behind each speaker.
As for the screen, it looks like it uses a woven material that shouldn't cause any significant reflection. I think placement within 1 inch should be fine, but it might be a good idea to check with the manufacturer first. |
