Placement in room - directly mounting front speakers
hey guys - just bought the VT 12 with the S2 sub. Very excited to get them. Here is the issues though:
1) Do you recommend mounting the speakers directly to wall using the screw slot on the speaker? Sturdy enough? 2) WIRING. I am very worried about this. I bought the sub cord and I know I need extra wire but what is up with these banana plugs (I see the sticky and it's long). What exactly do I need to hook everything up and how do you do it without soldering or slicing? 3) How high should each speaker be? front - 4ft and back ear level right? 4) Placement of sub woofer - right next to the couch right?? rightside up or on its side |

alright - I just need the wiring question
How do I do this? I know I need the banana plugs and wire but how does this all work? From what I've read the banana plugs go into the speakers while the wire directly goes into the receiver? Edit - do I even need to buy bananas to connect the speakers? Do i need to by a wire splittler so i can expose the twisty part of the actual wire? I'm assuming i just put the twisty part into the speakers (bare wire). Edit - How much speaker wire is recommended? 50 ft or could 30 do (for a smaller sized room) Last edited by delt31 : July 27th, 2007 at 6:38 AM. |

so i got the speakers and after some elbow grease (i.e. attach speaker wire) they are in and SOUND GREAT! The sub is really blowing my mind. My place isn't that big and even .25 is almost too much. I can only imagine how powerful this sub is!!!
