if you like to listen at very loud levels you should go with the VTF-15 there...or with dual vtf2-mk3's or VTf-3's...

Hi domingos,

What % home theater vs. music will the system be used for? Are you looking to optimize for one main listening position or for multiple seats?

Thanks

Sincerely,

Hi domingos,

Considering that you are 100% Home Theater, and are going to be optimizing for one main listening position, then I would get the most powerful subwoofer that you can comfortably fit into your budget and/or enclosure size constraints. So that would be VTF-15H or VTF-3 MK3.

Sincerely,

I have the same question, except I listen to 80% music / 20% movies, looking to optimize one seating position. What would you recommend for me?

My room is probably smaller than 4,000 cubic feet, although it also opens out to a kitchen and dining area.

Depending on your seating position, I might go for two VTF2 subs. If you are seated in the middle of the room, you will more likely be in a bass null, and two VTF2s are more likely to defeat a bass null than a VTF3. On the other hand if you are seated near a wall, I think a VTF3 will be enough. If it was me I would probably go for two VTF2s and place them near each of the mains, that way I wouldn't have any localization issues and I can raise the crossover higher than the recommended 80 hz if I wished without as much penalty. Plus the two VTF2 system would probably have more output capability overall.
