Only 1 of 2 VTF 15 MK2 pushing air out of port.
Hi guys,
I recently picked up a 2nd VTF 15 MK2. Original is about 4 years old. Have them set to same exact settings. One port open, EQ2, phase 0, crossover out volume knobs at approximately 10 o clock. Ran audyssey setup on my denon 6700, then adjusted a bit using spl meter so each sub is the same decibel at listening position using the denon test tone. Now to the question. Was playing the HSU test CD. During track 1 with the organs playing there was a significant amount of air coming out of the open port on one sub, but nothing coming out of the other sub. Woofer was moving the same on both, but again only one sub was pushing air out of the open port. Is there something I'm missing? |

What happens when you run them individually? Do you notice a difference in volume, distortion or..? Have you tried switching the cables from the Denon? my guess is that the Denon is interfering somehow by adjusting some of the lower frequencies on one side.
If you really want to dial these guys in, get a miniDSP unit with the included umik-2 mic. Don't rely on Audyssey to get lower frequencies right, because it won't. If all is right you should certainly get the chuffing from both units when you crank up the lower organ notes. |
