Upgrade kit from vtf3-mk4 to vtf3-mk5?

Dr. Hsu,

Since the new version (vtf3-mk5) looks to be a redesign over the vtf3-mk4 would there be any way to get the new driver and amp and put them in the vtf3-mk4 chassis? Better yet how about a discount to upgrade say to the vtf15mk2?

I don't want to speak for Hsu, but since the mk5 is a dramatically different design from the mk4, I really doubt there will be upgrade kits. Almost everything about the VTF3 is changed, cabinet dimensions, driver orientation, driver cut out, maybe amp cut out. There is no way to change one to the other without demolishing the enclosure.

I agree, but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask...

Hi Chiptouz,

ShadyJ is correct on that. It has a 15" driver now so you will need to remove a large portion of the enclosure to have it fit, also with the port configuration it would be difficult to get the driver in.

Sincerely,
Kevin
