Post HB1-MK2

This is going to be more of a commentary, FYI.
I purchased an AV Receiver for my dad this Christmas to replace his crackling old stereo unit. While testing it to make sure it was "good to gift", i made no changes to the factory settings. Since day 1 of having my HSU HB1-MK2's I have had them crossed over at 80Hz per HSU's recommendation. Well hooked up to this new receiver they were running full range. I must say that the HB1-MK2 sounded really good. The mid-bass was good and these could definitely run w/o a sub for a simple two speaker music system. I used Joe Satriani's latest (Wormhole Wizards) to test music and the bass guitar was relatively snappy and kick drum was much fuller than I expected. I watched a bit of an episode of Legend of the Seeker (R.I.P. - it was a fun show) and the soundtrack still maintained a reasonable amount of fullness. I probably spent about an hour testing and did not crank the volume to reference levels, but I would say on a non sub friendly budget, that the HB1-MK2's could make a listener happy run full range. BTW, I am very happy with my VTF2 MK3 and it won't be going anywhere any time soon.

Really good to hear mentatgom! The HB-1 MK2 is a really great speaker, and quite decent when running full range with music, agreed!
