STF-2 on all the time
I've got my sub on all the time. Is ther something bad in doing this?
Also, a lot of the time when it's in Auto ON/OFF I don't get bass which is why I went to keeping it on. I haven't messed with it yet but I'm thinking the db level may be to low. It's at -6 with the volume at 12 o'clock...that's the calibrated level for 75 dbs. Even when it's set to OFF the red light is on. Is this normal? Last Q I have it plugged into the back of the receiver (Onkyo 604) but was told this is not a good idea because the sub draws more power than the outlet is rated. Any help is appreciated. --Mike |

few things
yes, normal for red light to be on. this is what says "I am off!"
DO NOT USE YOUR AMP TO POWER THE SUB!!!!! This could be why you have 12o'clock for your setting for base but maybe not. The sub needs a lot more power than you can give it through the socket on the back. Best to use the wall socket that is not being used by the other equipment if you can. |

As audible posted, that is normal. Definitely plug the sub into a regular wall outlet. What you are doing is NOT a good idea.

Thx for the advice. I did plug the sub in an wall outles and will recalibrate with a lower volume on the sub and raise the db.
