Sub testing (how to for plate amp) question
Hello;
I've been a very happy owner of a VTF3-MK2 for about 7 years I think. We recently remodeled our TV room and after putting everything back together my bass output is close to non existent. I was just wondering how to go about testing the plate amp for my sub? I've tried playing the Bass tones from a CD that came with the sub and I do hear some noise on the lower freq tracks but at the volume I'm playing them my walls should be shaking and they are nowhere close. I've verified may switches and knobs on the back of the sub and they seem to be correct. I've purchased some cable adapters so I can remove my behringer feedback destroyer and cleanboxII from the circuit, so far just removing the feedback destroyer didn't help. I used to get a big thump from the sub when I powered my behringer on and it barely makes any noise now. If I pulled the cable from the clean box and held it in my hand it would also give me a nice hum and it hardly makes a peep. After running the auto EQ setup for my Denon 3805, the AVR tells me that I don't have a SUB. The output from the sub test can barely be heard unless you are standing over the sub during the noise burst. Thanks for any tips -john |

follow up
Just a follow up to my post. I contacted HSU Tech support and I'll be getting a new amp for my sub. Should be up and rock'n the walls by the weekend.

You are going to love the "Q" control
I was on a similar predicament recently with 2 VTF3-MKII's in which the amp plate died for one. So I ended up buying 2 new amp plates. You will notice the difference immediately, especially with the Q control feature.
