Movies sound great.. Mp3 music awful..
I just love my hybrid 5.1 V15 setup with Onkyo AVR.
But...

I have this enormous mp3 library but most have no bottom end and just really sound terrible.
Even Flac files don't really have big bottom end sound.
Maybe I'm spoiled on DTS 5.1...

Question: what might be the means to best use the DSP modes for music? Or is the sound just rolled off at 90hz and that's all I got?

Does ALL music sound thin or just some? If your AVR is seeing a 2.0 source and only using 2.0 playback, it may not even be using the subwoofer at all, and instead trying to use the front left/right speakers full range.
