stf-1 volume level
Whats up everyone. I have a question about the volume level on the STF-1. I listen to music at relatively low levels in my home office. I'm finding that I have to turn the stf-1 volume up to about 3/4 to get the sound I'm happy w/.
Is there any harm in this? Its probably due to placement and where I sit (if I go to the other corner of the room it sounds much better)... unforunately, I'm very limited in where I can place it. |

Hi Thomas,
Provided that you don't hear any audible distortion from the subwoofer at your preferred listening levels, then it should be fine to keep the volume knob relatively high with music. There is no correct volume knob setting per se, as this will depend on how high the signal level is that is fed to the subwoofer. If you have a controller where you can adjust subwoofer channel level, then it would be best to keep the STF volume knob closer to 1/3 of the way up, and then adjust the subwoofer channel level on your controller upwards in 1dB increments to your tastes. Sincerely,

I don't think I can change the level on my receiver w/out the remote... and I lost that years ago.
